There is a famous dialogue from a blockbuster Bollywood Movie – “Cake khaane ke liye hum kahin bhi ja sakte hain” which means “We are ready to go anywhere for having a cake” :-) Don’t we all love cakes? It is a given element of any celebration be it birthday, anniversary, new year or any other special occasion. Sometimes we want to add that special touch for the special people in our lives by baking our own cake for them. So here is a simple and delicious Eggless Chocolate Cake recipe which is sure to make your loved ones elated. It is the perfect recipe for those who are new to baking. As they say, keep it simple and sweet ! You are sure going to keep your fingers licking after having this Eggless Chocolate Cake.

Ingredients:

  • Milk – 1 cup
  • Curd – 1 cup
  • Oil – 1 cup
  • Plain Flour (Maida) – 3 cups
  • Sugar (powdered) – 2 cups
  • Baking Powder – 1 ¼ teaspoon
  • Baking soda – 1/4th teaspoon
  • Cocoa Powder – 2 to 3 tablespoons
  • Vanilla Essence – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cut Dry Fruits (optional)

Servings: 7-8 persons

Preparation time: 15 mins.

Cooking/Baking Time: 40-50 mins.

Method

Mix oil and sugar in a mixer/blender. Add curd and milk to it and blend/mix well again. Keep this aside.

In a large bowl, sieve and add plain flour, baking powder, baking soda and cocoa powder. Add above mix to the bowl and start beating all ingredients.

Add cut dry fruits of your choice if you wish to, add vanilla essence and continue beating. This is an important step because if all ingredients are not beaten well together, the cake will not rise well while baking. Once this mix is beaten well and is fluffy, pre-heat your oven to 200 degrees.

Spread some oil on the baking tray and spread the above eggless chocolate cake mix evenly.

Now bake at 180 degree. After around 40 minutes, check if cake is done. You can check by using a needle or fork. It should come out clean. If it does not, then bake for few more minutes till the cake is done.

Once done, let it cool down and take out the cake from the tray (by turning it upside down and tapping gently). Eggless Chocolate Cake is ready to be indulged in.

Suggestion: If you want to save time, you can start pre-heating the oven before you begin to beat all the ingredients.
