Pudina Raita

Pudina Raita is one of the most commonly prepared raitas in India. It is invigorating and mildly flavored, making it a perfect side dish for any meal especially during summer season. Pudina or mint is extremely soothing for the stomach and is used to treat tummy troubles. It cleanses the system and benefits the respiratory system as well. It is a refreshing herb because of which is is widely used in mouth fresheners and can be used for oral care.

 

Ingredients :

  • Fresh curd – 2 cups
  • Fresh Pudina/Mint Leaves – 1 cup
  • Roasted Cumin Powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Few finely chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
  • Black Salt – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste

Preparation Time: 5-10 mins.

Servings: 3-4 Persons

Method

Wash pudina/mint leaves well and remove the stems.

Now take around half cup of curd and add the pudina leaves to it. Grind in a mixer/grinder. Add this to the remaining curd in a bowl and churn well.

Alternatively, churn the curd well in a bowl. Make a rough paste of the pudina leaves using a grindstone and add the paste to the curd.

Add roasted cumin powder and black salt.

Keep in mind that black salt has already been added. So, add salt accordingly and mix well.

Garnish with coriander leaves and refrigerate. Pudina Raita is ready. Serve chilled when needed.
